About the cycle
Written for soprano, mezzo-soprano and two pianos, A Magic Casement creates a theatrical sequence from poems of dream, faery, moonlight and transformation. The two voices repeatedly cross the boundary between narrator and character while the pianos supply both atmosphere and dramatic architecture.
